About...
Connecticut-based Dexter blurs genre lines by drawing on the many musical
influences of its members. Their organic, acoustically-driven rock has a hint of
eclectic jazz-infused experimentation and grit. Soaring melodies, soulful
insight, and fearless risk-taking contribute to their wide appeal. Dexter enjoys
the dynamic and spirited conversation that is music—
in the studio, in performance, with each other and with their audience.
Band Members...
While
fortunate to collaborate with many fine musicians, Dexter's core group is as
follows:
|
Whendi Cook |
|
 |
Whendi’s music is personal
and reflective yet distinctly universal, resonating with visceral
imagery. Her unconventional songwriting combined with an ability
to transform her voice from angelic to aggressive creates a rare
complexity and completeness in her artistry.
Both ethereal and earthy,
the question remains… is she sylph or seraph? |

|
Dan Broderick |
|
 |
Dan is most at
home expressing himself through guitar, (though it is not unheard of to
find him clutching a bass, mandolin, pots and pans, etc.)
Dan has what may be termed an unhealthy obsession with an
"end-to-end pursuit of music”.
Whether he is seeking out mentors, collaborating on an effects pedal
design, repairing guitars, or designing and building tube amps, playing
is never far from his mind. |

|
Jona Ziac |
|
 |
Jona, a gifted
multi-instrumentalist and veteran of several bands, weaves a melodic
counter-point on the low-end. When ask to illuminate the defining
characteristics of his sound he replied,
"Jona like bass... bass good."
